about
Isn't it crazy how Life can change in the shortest amount of time?
"Pivot" is a Song about the milestones, and crossroads in your life that some of us keep replaying in our heads over and over again. What would have happened, if I said this to her? What could be different if I had chosen to go this way?
The time during the pandemic was exactly when I was starting to wonder the same questions. I wasn't happy with where I was and what I was doing and realized that I needed to change... and believe me, that was hard.
Luckily I had support from family and friends and as crazy as it sounds: Dr. Perry Cox from Scrubs itself?!
One of my friends managed to send me a video from John C. McGinley, the actor of Dr.Cox. In this video he gifted me his precious time to explain to me how hard it is to "pivot" and that it takes a lot of spine to do so... I was deeply touched and although I didn't know the meaning of this specific word in this moment, I felt extremly motivated and supported. When I looked up the word, I knew that it was perfectly describing the situation, which I happend to be in.
So I sat down and wrote this song thanks to the inspiration, that he gave me.
Since I wrote the song, I tried to make my vision of the music audible for everyone, and luckily I have a fantastic producer, who helped me to create this wonderful produced version of "Pivot" and give it more life and depth. I hope you find things that happily remind you of the first version and new parts that excite you even more. Enjoy and take a listen.
I hope that It might help one or the other to take the courage, walk that next step, whatever it might be. You are loved.
Yours, Darlynn

LYRICS:
Verse1:
I could have tried to reach my goal,
but I was scared to fail.
I could have seized the chance,
instead of standing still.
I could have risked it all, loose it all
Just to end up here.
Chorus:
Which was the road I had to cross
or the milestone that I tossed
Is this the pivot here right now
Where I have to turn around
Which was the road I had to cross
or the milestone that I tossed
Is this the pivot here right now
How should I ever know how
Verse2:
I could have walked that step,
and go the extra mile.
I could have learned to speak,
Instead of thinking why.
I could have left it all, come back to you
Just to waste my time
Chorus:
Which was the road I had to cross
or the milestone that I tossed
Is this the pivot here right now
Where I have to turn around
Which was the road I had to cross
or the milestone that I tossed
Is this the pivot here right now
How should I ever know how
Bridge:
What reality would I live in today
And would that make me happy now
what am I supposed to say
Where am I supposed to stay
Chorus:
Which was the road I had to cross
or the milestone that I tossed
Is this the pivot here right now
Where I have to turn around
Which was the road I had to cross
or the milestone that I tossed
Is this the pivot here right now
How should I ever know how?
